Trees need to be felled for a number of reasons: – dead, dying and dangerous trees or roots causing problems to foundations and lifting paths and drives etc.
There 2 ways:
- 1. When space permits and there are no hazards in the proximity the tree can be straight felled.
- 2. If the tree is in a confined space with hazards such as buildings, sheds or gardens for example, the tree would need to be section felled. This is when a climber uses a rope and harness and brings the tree down in either hand held sections, dropped into the drop zone. However, if sections are too big to handle or if there are obstacles underneath then it would be lowered down on ropes in a controlled manner.
